Vintage Red "Sugar"

Vintage red “sugar” beads were made in Japan of an acrylic base with tiny acrylic beads randomly placed on the beads’ surfaces to reflect light. Many of these beads have lost some of the acrylic surface beads.
White Heart

White heart beads were originally a part of the African trade and are glass beads with an opaque white center. White heart beads have colored glass on the outside in red, green, yellow, or other bright colors. Vintage white heart beads were made of Czech glass.
Uganda Fair Trade Paper
Material: Paper
Women and children in Uganda make these Fair Trade beads from old newspapers and magazines processed with water and adhesives to make pulp that is turned into narrow strips and wound to make beads. Newspapers are the preferred raw material because of their abundance, eco-friendliness and the fact that most use color fast inks. Once dried, the lightweight paper beads are often painted with bright colors and glazed. Once varnished, these beads are water resistant and durable.

White Jade Dyed

Jade is a natural stone found in a wide range of colors, with green jade as the most common color. Although jade is often the name given to any hard green stone, nephrite or jadeite are considered to be true jade. Jade is said to bring good luck and to provide wisdom and prosperity. This jade began white, but has been dyed vivid yellows and greens.
